El IESE inició sus actividades en noviembre de 1958 con el Programa de Alta Dirección de Empresas (PADE), dirigido a presidentes y primeros ejecutivos de empresas, la mayoría de ellas, empresas familiares. Un objetivo del Programa PADE fue –y sigue siendo- ayudar a empresarios y altos directivos a avanzar en la profesionalización de dirección y del consejo de administración de las empresas. El buen funcionamiento de estos órganos de gobierno son pilares fundamentales para el desarrollo exitoso de una empresa a largo plazo, y para que ésta pueda tener un impacto positivo sobre las personas y la sociedad.

En esta Sesión Extraordinaria con motivo del 60º Aniversario del IESE, podremos comprender mejor, de la mano de sus protagonistas, la evolución del gobierno y la gestión de cinco destacadas empresas de origen familiar. En cada momento, accionistas y órganos de gobierno han sabido acometer un proceso de transformación de su modo de trabajar y actuar, que les ha permitido impulsar un crecimiento internacional extraordinario y les ha ayudado en su desarrollo a largo plazo.
