Is my MBA degree official? What steps do I need to take for my diploma to be official?

The degree from the IESE MBA program is an official, proprietary degree.
Since 2006, the MBA program has been an official postgraduate program in business administration, conferring the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA), recognized and published in Spain's Official State Gazette (Boletín Oficial del Estado) number 157 (page 25,010, second column) July 3, 2006.
All Alumni who have earned the title since May 2008 have the option to make their diploma official, which is often required for pursuing further studies, such as a doctorate, or for degree validation.

The IESE diploma is signed by the University of Navarra.

If you need the official title signed by the Ministery of Education and the King of Spain (only possible for the alumni graduated after May 2008), please contact Bettina Semmel at the following e-mail: bsemmel@iese.edu.

To formalize this procedure, you will be asked for:
•  To complete a request form IESE will send you
•  Photocopy of your ID or passport.
•  Certificate of previous studies.
•  Copy of undergraduate degree.
•  Sendind a wire transfer in the amount of aprox. 350€ (indicated in the request form)

After completing these steps, your file will be completed in the University of Navarra system and a receipt of payment will be issued for the conferral of the degree, which is equivalent to the official diploma (for the purposes of the legislation, on a provisional basis, it has the same validity as the official degree of the Ministery of Education signed by the king, which is issued in the time frame of a year and a half).

Note: The IESE diploma conferred at your graduation is internationally recognized and is sufficient for most of the standard applications.

What is the relationship between IESE and the University of Navarra?

IESE is the Business School of the University of Navarra, offering postgraduate programs in management and business administration (MBA) and executive development programs.

The University of Navarra is a higher education center, accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and recognized by the Royal Decree 2294/1962 from September 8 (BOE of 2014).

What are ECTS credits?

European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are the standard adopted by all universities of the EHEA to guarantee convergence of the different European education systems.

The ECTS credits are based on the individual work of the student in all activities during his or her learning process (hours of class, hours of study and projects and internships).

One ECTS credit is equivalent to 25-30 hours of work completed by the student.

An academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS credits, provided that the student maintains full-time status.

If necessary, indicate this in the comments section of the request form and we will add it to the program certificate.

For your information:
•   The MBA is equivalent to a minimum of 120 ECTS credits.
•   The EMBA 2008, 2009 and 2010 is equivalent to 86 ECTS credits.
•   The EMBA 2010 to 2017 is equivalent to 92 ECTS credits.
•    From 2018 on, the EMBA is equivalent to 90 ECTS credits.
•   The GEMBA is equivalent to 96 credits.
•   The PDD and PDG programs are equivalent to 26 ECTS credits.
•   The PADE is equivalent to 23 ECTS credits.
•   The AMP is equivalent to 17 credits.
•   The PMD/PLD is equivalent to 16 credits.
