Based on the Sustaining Executive Performance (SEP) model which has been delivered on over 100 different open and custom programs at IESE the past 5 years we first establish the business case for improved health in the organisation. We will then discuss present work on how design thinking may be used to lock-in behaviour change and better lead teams to be healthier and higher performing.
Dr. Steven P. MacGregor is the Founder and CEO of The Leadership Academy of Barcelona [The LAB] a leading professional development and research firm with clients including Telefónica, Oracle, Danone and the BBC.
A frequent keynote speaker and guest professor in the areas of executive health, behaviour change and design thinking, he has taught several hundred sessions on the world’s best-ranked executive education programs, with schools including IESE, IMD, CEIBS and IE.
He is the author of Sustaining Executive Performance (Pearson 2015), holds a PhD in Engineering Design Management from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and has been a visiting researcher at Stanford and Carnegie-Mellon. His executive education teaching and wider work at The LAB is informed by academic interest in sustainability and design and he is an article reviewer for, among others, Industry and Innovation, Journal of Engineering Design, and the International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation.
A former national Duathlon Champion currently racing for the athletics team of FC Barcelona, he has trained with Olympic athletes, Tour de France cyclists, and Ironman champions, and can be found on a frequent basis running up and down the mountain overlooking the city.
