Como cada año la Cátedra de empresa familiar del IESE ofrece a todos los miembros de la comunidad de Alumni la oportunidad de formarse en los fundamentos de la empresa familiar. Se trata de un ciclo especial que se ofrece por quinta vez y se dirige a aquellas personas que habiendo seguido programas regulares del IESE (MBA, EMBA, PADE, PDG, PDD, AMP y PMD) quieren profundizar en los aspectos específicos de las empresas familiares.

Las empresas familiares constituyen la columna vertebral de la economía en la mayoría de países. Según datos del Family Firm Institute aportan entre el 70% y el 90% de PIB mundial. Estudios del Instituto de la Empresa Familiar en España cuantifican en el 85% el porcentaje de empresas familiares en nuestro país.

Los datos anteriores pueden explicar la constante demanda de formación específica sobre empresa familiar que surge de manera recurrente de los participantes en los programas regulares del IESE. De ahí surgió la idea de ofrecer este ciclo.

DERECHOS DE INSCRIPCIÓN
50€ en concepto de material de trabajo, desayunos y bebidas durante el programa. Deberá abonarse en efectivo el primer día de sesiones.

    Lecturer de Dirección Estratégica

    Alfonso Chiner is a Lecturer in the Department of Strategic Management.<BR> <BR>Alfonso Chiner holds a Law Degree and received his PhD in Business Law from the Universitat de Barcelona with the doctoral thesis ?Family Protocol.? He also holds an MBA from IESE Business School.<BR> <BR>Alfonso Chiner has worked at leading consulting firms and gained executive responsibility in financial institutions, as well as investment and capital risk companies in the areas of corporate finance, investment and wealth management.<BR> <BR>Since 2004, he has combined his teaching activities focused on family-owned businesses with serving as a facilitator and member on the family councils and boards of directors of several family-owned companies.<BR> <BR>His areas of specialization include family-owned businesses, strategy, governance, management systems and structures, the role of family members, the succession process and the next generation, the family council and the family office. Alfonso Chiner has written and published several articles on the key issues faced by family-owned businesses. He has prepared cases and technical notes and teaches a subject on family-owned businesses in the MBA program and in specific programs designed for members of family-owned businesses. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at family-owned business forums and conferences.<BR>

    Senior Lecturer de Dirección de Personas en las Organizaciones

    Joan de Dou Playá is senior lecturer in the Department of Managing People in Organizations at IESE. Prof. de Dou runs his own private psychiatric practice and manages a team of professional psychiatrists and psychologists. He has also worked as a medical specialist and has held various positions at several psychiatric hospitals. <BR> <BR>For several years, Prof. de Dou was an assistant in the Human Behavior Department of IESE. Additionally, he is a psychiatric consultant at Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Barcelona. He serves as an expert psychiatrist for the ecclesiastical tribunal of the Archdiocese of Barcelona, and an associate doctor at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.

    Holder, Chair of Family-owned Business

    Josep Tàpies is professor in the Department of Strategic Management and holder of the Family-Owned Business Chair at IESE. He gained a PhD in Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and an MBA at ESADE.<BR> <BR>His areas of specialization include strategic management, corporate governance, family-owned firms, their development and governance structures. He currently teaches several courses in the MBA program, as well as in other General Management Programs at IESE. He also designs programs focused at issues related specifically to family-owned firms, where he teaches general management, governance and strategy in family-owned businesses.<BR> <BR>Professor Tàpies has taught General Management in a number of different business schools in both Europe and Latin America, including AESE in Portugal, IDE in Ecuador, PAD-University of Piura in Peru, ISE in Brazil, IAE in Argentina, ESE in Chile, and INALDE in Colombia. He has also been a member of the academic board of IPADE in Mexico and ESE in Santiago, Chile.<BR> <BR>For many years now, Professor Tàpies has worked as a consultant with individual businesses, many of them family-owned, as well as with Spanish and international banking institutions. He is a member of the board of directors at several Spanish companies, Fellow of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA), member of the board of the Spanish Association of Family-Owned Business Consultants and Academics (CAEF) and the international center for financial research (CIIF). He is also a fellow at the International Academy of Management.<BR> <BR>Prof. Tàpies has written book chapters and books such as "100 Familias que cambiaron el mundo: Las empresas familiares y la industrialización" "<i>Sí quiero: el compromiso de la familia empresaria</i>", "<i>Management Buy Out</i>", "<i>Plan de vuelo</i>", "<i>Family Business: not so small nor so young. A renewed approach to the age and size of the Spanish family business</i>" and "<i>Family values and value creation</i>" (co-authored by Professor John L. Ward). He has also developed a wide variety of academic and journalistic articles on family-owned businesses.
